Advent Prayers for the Nations

The countdown to Christmas is on! Focus your children on the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world. Make an Advent Prayer Chain with your family and intercede for unreached peoples living in cultures where the gospel has not yet penetrated.

Family Bible Activity:

  1. Download the 25 prayer strips here.
  2. Use scissors to cut out the 25 prayer strips. Find the Christmas Day strip. Use a stapler to form this strip into the first link in your chain. 
  3. Shape the remaining 24 strips into links and add to your chain in any order.
  4. Begin using your Advent Prayer Chain on December 1. Carefully tear off the link at the opposite end from the Christmas Day link.
  5. With your family, read about the people group on that link. Pray that they will come to know Jesus, the Savior of the world.
  6. Continue in the same way each day as you are counting down to Christmas.
  7. On Christmas, use the remaining Christmas Day link to pray one of God’s promises over the unreached peoples.

  1. This is a great idea and will share it with friends! I think it is wonderful for kids and for adults! I am a grandmother and don’t have any little ones at home, but I think this will be a good way for me to prepare for Christmas. Thanks!!
